Having a pet kitten, you can’t help but worry about their health. There are diseases that can affect your kitten that might lead to their death. One of the most dangerous disease that you must know in order to prevent and treat it is the Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD).
The Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) is a lower urinary tract disease that can become fatal if not treated immediately. It is a painful inflammation of the lower urinary tract that can be caused by various elements including viruses, bacterias, diet, decreased water consumption and urine retention.
Prevention and Treatment
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) has symptoms that can be easily observed. Symptoms include blood in the urine, difficult and frequent urination and are often small in quantity, inappropriate urination. You can even notice lack of energy and loss of appetite on the kitten. If you have seen any of these symptoms on your kitten, you need to bring your kitten to the veterinarian immediately.
If none of these symptoms are seen, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your kitten will not get the disease. In this light, what you must do then is to prevent FLUTD from infecting your kitten. You should get your kitten checked-up regularly. You should maintain proper urinary acidity and magnesium levels by giving the kitten a balanced diet that helps promote urinary tract help. In case any of the symptom is seen, try calling your veterinarian to ask for help.
Kittens are such great pets that you wouldn’t want them to leave you just yet. Preventing illnesses from infecting them is the best way to keep them alive.
